We are a community singing community modeled on Victoria's highly successful 300+ voice Gettin’ Higher Choir and we are in harmony with the philosophy of the Ubuntu Choirs Society.   We welcome singers of all ages, cultures, beliefs and backgrounds, experience and abilities.

Along with both those organizations we believe that the joy of singing is a universal birthright, and that together, regardless of musical background, we can help improve the world by joining voices in song.

Doug Paterson

Doug founded the Harmonious Family Choir in the Spring of 2009. 

He is an experienced choral singer, musician and dance caller…a director of both children’s choirs and musical productions. He is also a graduate of Denis Donnelly and Shivon Robinsong’s “Community Choir Leadership Trainings” and is a:

  • qualified BC teacher,

  • music specialist
    ~ as well as an  ~

  • RFF and early childhood teacher at the Victoria Conservatory of Music
